Yúk’e Arts Market Returns This December
The Northern Cultural Expressions Society (NCES), in partnership with the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association (YFNCT), is pleased to announce the return of the annual Yúk’e Arts Market, taking place December 4-19, 2026, at Ghàts’etsi formerly known as Northern Cultural Expressions Society in Whitehorse.
The Yúk’e Arts Market celebrates the creativity, skill and cultural expression of Indigenous artists living in the Yukon, bringing together a diverse collection of artwork in a beautiful gallery setting at the NCES carving studio.
The market provides an opportunity for the public to discover and purchase authentic, locally created Indigenous artwork while directly supporting artists and the continued growth of the Indigenous arts community in the Yukon.
Visitors to the market can expect to find a wide variety of original works representing both traditional and contemporary practices. From carving, beadwork and jewelry to textiles, visual art and other handcrafted pieces, the market offers an opportunity to connect with the depth and diversity of Indigenous art being created across the territory.
“We’re excited to host the Yúk’e Arts Market in our space and showcase the incredible work of Indigenous artists from across the Yukon,” said Naomi Crey, Executive Director, NCES. “It’s a special way to bring artists and community together during the holiday season.”
“The Yúk’e Arts Market is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the talent of Indigenous artists in the Yukon while connecting their work with new audiences,” says Alicia Sivuluaq Harry, Indigenous Arts Coordinator, YFNCT. “We’re proud to support a market that brings greater visibility and opportunity to Indigenous artists.”
Artist applications for the 2026 Yúk’e Arts Market will open in mid-October, with Indigenous artists living in the Yukon invited to apply to have their work featured in this year’s market.
The Yúk’e Arts Market will be open to the public from December 4-19, 2026, at Northern Cultural Expressions Society, 104 Lambert Street, Whitehorse.
