Call for Expressions of Interest – Performing Arts Creation, Production and Technical Team Members

Contracts from May 2021 onwards

We’re looking for passionate people who care deeply about Yukon First Nations people, arts and culture and would love to join our team. We’re offering rewarding, challenging paid professional arts opportunities.

YFN 2022 – Leading with Culture is a multi-year legacy project in Yukon First Nation cultural performing arts revitalization and development. Our goal is to ignite the fire in the next generations and support cultural pride, resiliency, and connection. Our guiding principles are: Artistic work for the community by the community. And transforming it for the world. YFN 2022 – Leading with Culture includes creation and sharing of powerful new music, dance, theatre, storytelling and more!

This general call is for upcoming both short and longer-term professional contracts for team members. The priority is on hiring Yukon First Nations and Indigenous applicants, including those identifying as 2S/Indigiqueer/LGBTIA+. However, all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will be considered. Additional training and mentorship will be provided for individuals who want to develop their professional skills, as we welcome in, mentor and hold up next generations in the performing arts.

We’re looking for interested team members in these areas:

  • Performing Arts Mentors (Senior Level Performing Artists and Designers)
  • Elder/Cultural Mentors (Knowledge Keepers, Language Specialists, Culture Champions)
  • Designers (costumes, sound, lighting, props, projections and visuals)

Production & technical contracts:

  • Stage manager
  • Assistant stage managers
  • Production manager
  • Production assistants
  • Lighting & sound technicians
  • Technical director
  • Training & mentorship coordinator
  • Technical and production mentors

Other:

  • Photography
  • Filmmaking
  • Marketing and promotions
  • Graphic design
